Palm Beach began its operation in 1993, with the first salon opening in Courtice, Ontario. The shared vision of the company founders was to offer a professional alternative to tanning enthusiasts; one that focused on client education, convenience and elegance.
In fact, Palm Beach pioneered the "Mega Tan" concept in Canada, opening the first big-box style tanning salon to rave reviews by both customers and the industry alike and changed its name to Palm Beach Mega Tan!
This concept is based on a "no appointment" system that has proven very popular with the very busy tanning public. The clean cut image, all metal tanning equipment and superior tanning results have led to Palm Beach Mega Tan becoming the largest and most popular tanning chain in Ontario. A new industry standard was set in the Canadian market; Palm Beach Mega Tan was now the salon of choice for the tanning public and the one to watch.
The milestones this company has attained have not gone unnoticed. Palm Beach received a great many industry and business awards both locally and internationally, including the Wolff System Award for "Best Salon, Eastern Canada", followed by "Canadian Salon of the Year" by Wolff System Technologies. Both these awards were well accepted, however, when the company received the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award in 2002, the company was recognized by its peers for its business acumen, not for tanning services. Then, in 2003, Marie Jones, President and Co-founder of Palm Beach Mega Tan was nominated for the prestigious 2003 Rotman Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The Palm Beach Mega Tan concept has grown considerably since its introduction, all under the watchful eye of the company founders. Now, Palm Beach Mega Tan has made the transition from small business to big opportunities for potential franchisees. While many locations are open or opening soon, there are still lucrative territories in many prime markets throughout Canada.
