Educate Yourself: Make sure you understand the pros and cons of exposure to UV light. To get the most out of your tan session, make sure you understand how to turn up the volume on the radio and how to turn the body cooling fan higher or lower.
Use Common Sense: If you are new to indooor tanning, take the advice of the tanning consultant for the first few tan sessions. Once you have an understanding of the power from a particular tanning bed, select your exposure time using moderation. Try to never, ever burn.
Lotion: Realize that using a tanning lotion works and intensifies the tanning session. When you first begin using a lotion, proceed with caution and reduce your tanning time.
Eye protection: Eyesite is precious and eyes should be protected from exposure to UV light, whenever tanning indoors (or outdoors for that matter), by using an approved eyewear product. Understand that closing the eyes, or covering them with a towel, is not good enough to guarantee protection. Ask to see the "Excuses" posters from Eyepro, you'll surely use eyewear after that. YUK.
Consider Your Health: Be aware that some drugs contain photosensitive ingredients and can make skin very sensitive to UV light. When using a new medication, ask your pharmacist if the prescription is photosensitive, or ask our Tanning Consultant to check our photosensitive medication chart.
Moderation: Understand that with tanning, as with most things in life, moderation is the key to success. Never ever sunburn.
Medical Opinion: Over the last several years, there has been much published that appears to show that exposure to UV light (UVB) has many health benefits. Many in the medical and scientific community now believe that vitamin D, produced by exposing the skin to UVB light, may have many health benefits and is vital to all, especially those that live in sunless climates. Be determined to look at both sides of the debate on sun exposure, and make up your own mind on any possible benefits from exposure to sunlight and compare them to any negative consequences of sunlight exposure.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST - Look good and enjoy the relaxation.
